An expert lecture on Recent Advances in Drug Design and Development was organized by the joint venture of UDISHA and Department of Chemistry, Government Science College, Sector-15, Gandhinagar, on Dt. 30 August 2025. The objective of the lecture was to enhance the knowledge of students and faculty in the field of modern drug development techniques and Careers and Entrepreneurship in Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Anuj Patel is a distinguished chemist and entrepreneur with a strong academic foundation and a dynamic career in pharmaceutical research and innovation.Dr. Patel has contributed significantly to the scientific community through multiple reputed international publications and has also authored a book, showcasing his expertise and commitment to advancing chemical sciences. Professionally, he has worked with reputed organizations such as Synzeal Research Pvt. Ltd., Darsh Pharma Chem, and Alcove International, gaining hands-on experience across various facets of pharmaceutical development.

Dr. Patel began the lecture by outlining the traditional process of drug discovery and then moved towards more advanced methods such as:

? High Throughput Screening (HTS)
? QSAR (Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship) Modeling
? Role of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Drug Discovery
