The seminar was organized with the following key objectives:
1. To highlight the ecological significance of cryptogams in Gujarat’s diverse ecosystems
2. To create awareness about the diversity, distribution, and conservation status of cryptogams in Gujarat
3. To encourage faculty members and young researchers to undertake research in cryptogamic botany
4. To introduce students to emerging research areas and career prospects in cryptogams
5. To explore the economic, ecological, and biotechnological potential of cryptogams
6. To strengthen academic understanding of lower plant groups
7. To foster research and innovation focused on fragile and vulnerable ecosystems
The State Level One Day Seminar on “Cryptogams: Hidden Treasure of Gujarat” was a resounding success, fulfilling its academic and research-oriented objectives. The seminar significantly enhanced awareness about cryptogamic diversity, encouraged research interest, and strengthened academic collaboration among institutions.
