The seminar commenced with a formal inaugural ceremony. Dr. D.P. Patel provided the vision for integrating research facilities with regional ecological studies and welcomed the Dignitaries on dais, invited speakers, faculty and participants from different universities and colleges, emphasizing the college's commitment to fostering a research-oriented environment. The session was graced by Dr. S. K. Patel and Dr. Y. M. Patel as the primary invitees, who introduced the institute and its achievement over the years. Organizing secretary conveyed vote of thanks for the inaugural session.
The primary objectives of the seminar were:

To highlight the diverse lithophytic flora across various areas of Gujarat.

To discuss the impact of climate change and industrialization on rocky habitats.
•
To bridge the gap between academic research and field-based conservation through the KCG research promotion scheme.
•
To provide a platform for students and researchers to interact with experts in the field of Botany.
The day was divided into technical sessions focusing on the Overview, Status and Conservation of lithophytes. Dr. Kumar Gosavi Presented on “Lithophytic Grasses of Gujarat: An opportunity with reference to Lithophytic grasses of Gujarat.”. Dr. Gosavi emphasized on Desiccation Tolerant properties of Lithophytic grasses, their ecological as well economic importance. Dr Gosavi also showed the importance of desiccation tolerant properties of such lithophytic grasses in food security.
Next Session was held by Dr. Arun Chandore on “Plant Diversity of Lateritic plateaus and Biodiversity Conservation” Dr. Chandore in his informative session acknowledged the participants with enchanting and beautiful flora of Lateritic plateau.
Third session of the seminar was held by Dr Sharad Kambale on “ Taxonomy of Lithophytic flowering plants : A CBI approach” Dr. Kambale Enlighted the participants with Importance of Taxonomy in study of plants. He also emphasised on conservation strategies for the plant resources.
